Any other May I would be in a crush of activity. Mother’s Day would have been spent with extended family from morning to night.  Saturday I would have been at the “Boy Scout Mother’s Day Flower Sale” where I buy spring hanging baskets for all the important women in my life. I would be checking my budget and planning the garden that would be planted in about two weeks and I would be adding no fewer than four graduation parties to the calendar as well as planning one for our son who is a recent college grad. None of this is happening and there really is no true indication of when things will return to what my son calls “the before time.”

So……how are you sleeping? Are you feeling a little anxious? The world is a different place and we are in the middle of it. Truthfully, some days are great. We work at home, we have a rhythm, we all retreat to our corners to carve some space and we meet up in the evening for a family dinner and conversation. I’m pretty lucky. Then I catch the news and the hair rises on my arms. I hear about the tragedy and the hardship that is today’s reality and the fragile peace is fractured.

Anxiety and Insomnia are something I have battled all my life and it became increasingly more severe after I passed my forties. The present atmosphere has intensified these problems for so many of us and the only good news is that at least not many of us are behind the wheel driving.

My demons come out at night. My mind turns on instead of shutting down and suddenly every problem I can’t solve is forefront in my mind, I get up, I lay down, I get up, I eat a banana perhaps a warm glass of something, I lay down, I get up, I read, and I go nuts. Insomnia is a curse and someone doesn’t like me.

Studies have supported the idea that CBD has the potential to improve sleep and reduce symptoms of insomnia. Take a look at the article published by the American Sleep Association. It states “The use of CBD can potentially decrease your symptoms of insomnia and help you get more quality sleep.” You can read the article here.

Leafly is an industry publication and their article How to use CBD for Anxiety is worth the read  It references the benefits of CBD and its therapeutic potential in the treatment of anxiety. It also covers some unique benefits that CBD offers.

Since we actually have time to take a bath now, why not add our Grown Green bath soak to the water and improve your night’s rest while you’re at it? Check out the options for self-care and a CBD infusion for your endocannabinoid system here.
